Lake Louise a.k.a. Worst Hike Ever

Hike Description.

Note in the description: "wait until mid-July for the snow to melt"  Not only that, but the drive to the trailhead is on a dirt road that takes FOREVER, and it's really bumpy.

This is at the bottom, at the start of the hike, where there's a reservoir. Good thing my dad had those work gloves in his truck:

I was so hungry on the way up, I stopped to eat a little bit of my PB&J. My mom kneeled down and opened her mouth for me to feed her a few bites, too:

And this was the whole point of marching through the snow and getting frost-bitten toes: Lake Louise, still pretty frozen:

The names Lois, Loise, Louise, Louie, and all those weird variations always confuse me. I'm still not exactly sure how to pronounce the lake's name.

Storm Castle

The video is of what may be one of Fatty McFatFat's offspring. Not yet bold enough to eat out of your hand, he will still come up right next to you for some peanuts.

This is up almost to the top:

And some spring flowers:

  1. Mix together the egg whites, sugar, coconut and vanilla
  2. Scoop them into little clumps onto a greased cookie pan
  3. Bake for 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
  4. Let them cool on the baking sheet for about 20 minutes.
  5. Microwave the chocolate chips for a minute. Stir it, and then microwave for another 30 to 45 seconds. Stir again
  6. Use a spoon to spread the chocolate on top of the coconut clumps.

Cool Sink

I can't remember if I showed you this or not, but this is the sink that was in T and "June"'s house. I thought it was kind of a cool idea. My mom thinks it's butt-ugly, though.

Owl in the house

This is a metal owl sculpture that came from my grandparents house.  It's Casey's from way back when, we did a raffle type thing for all of their grandchildren when we were younger, to divy up all the cool stuff they had.  Funny thing though is my grandparents accidentally gave this away to their neighbors.  My dad asked them if they had it because it seemed like the only place it could have disappeared to, and he had a letter from my grandparents that was signed from years ago saying that it was supposed to be given to Casey.  So right now its at our house as you can see, and next time Casey comes up, he will be surprised by it.  It's pretty awesome, I'm jealous!
